More than anything else, race can limit one's opportunities. America is still overwhelmingly run by whites, and their perceptions of others are often based on race, religion, sex, wealth, appearance, and personality. If you don't meet the white person's internalized standards of "acceptability", you don't get the job, the apartment, the bargain, the education, and a variety of other opportunities that could have helped you achieve the American dream. Just like in A House Divided when they had cameras on and one African American and one Caucasian Man went to see an apartment on different days in the same week he had two apartments available for the white man but for the black man no availability at all. We as a society need to change race discrimination because if we don't who knows what we are setting ourselves up for.

  1. Racial profiling is not safe to the millions of minorities that drive daily. Cops need to police according to the laws. Not according to a persons color. Such a sad world that color is a hindering factor when it comes to some officers doing their jobs.

  2. Unfortunately getting used to racial profiling is common for black males like me. The criminal justice system often has corrupt cops that act out of racist ideologies and as a result many blacks are racial profiled against.
